This sloping front garden is the main garden, as the back of the site is simply a path's width and steep hill; the two level decked areas offer plenty of space for entertaining and have been enhanced with planting, containers, statuary and lighting. Climbers will eventually clothe the house walls and scramble over the pergola, whilst shrubs and herbaceous perennials will fill out and soften areas in and around the decks providing plenty of colour, scent and textural interest along with pebbles and pots; contrasting wonderfully with the yellow pine deck boards. Levels alongside the road have been raised, using railway sleepers, and the shrubs planted will soon screen much of the garden from the road, whilst the herbaceous perennials will provide interest at eye level.
